Everyone knows and loves the dodgems. Commonly known as Bumper Cars the dodgems have been entertaining children and adults alike since the 1920’s and have only got better over the years. Irvin Leisure provides a full range of dodgem cars from classic old-time dodgems for period events to high-octane modern dodgems, complete with lights and sounds to create the ultimate funfair dodgems experience. With a full range of track sizes and quantity of cars available we are sure to have the right dodgem set for your requirements.
Track sizes start at 54 feet by 40 feet and go up to 100 feet by 50 feet, with lots of different sizes in between, prices are dependent on track size, amount of cars and type of dodgems required so it is important to call us and discuss your needs to ensure you get the right bumper cars for the right price.

Modern Dodgems Hire
The modern dodgems are all built on one truck and this makes them much faster to setup than the traditional dodgems.
Modern dodgems come in 2 sizes, 16 cars (65ft x 40ft) and a 24 cars (85ft x 40ft)
Both types of dodgems can play music if needed at your event.
Traditional Dodgems Hire
Traditional dodgems are a full build up dodgems ride, meaning they have to be built piece by piece by hand. Because the traditional dodgems is built piece by piece they are a better choice when the gate is to small for the new modern dodgems.
Sizes needed for the traditional dodgems hire is 75ft x 52ft and the traditional dodgems has 16 cars.

As you can probably guess, dodgems for weddings are one of our most popular hire request and for good reason.
Dodgems are amazing to entertain your guests and also give you amazing photo opportunities. The photos below give you a idea of the perfect opportunities to get photos for your wedding album.
Cheap Quotes
Please keep in mind when you are shopping around for dodgems hire prices that you will sometimes come across cheap quotes. To achieve cheap quotes something has to be cut, for example maintenance costs so the rides are not kept to the best quality or it could be the salary of the staff and as they say if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. This all adds up to providing a poor services so please choose a a supplier you can trust.
All the rides and equipment we provide are all kept at a very high standard. All rides are tested annually and have £10 Million Public Liability Insurance. All staff are polite and trained to give a professional service.

Traditional Dodgems average cost: £2100
There is a number of things to consider when calculating the dodgems hire cost.
1. Length of operating time
The length of operating time is one of the big factors when calculating the cost. The standard hire times for the dodgems hire is 4 hours hire and 6 hours hire but we can give you a quote for as many hours as you like.
The reason the length of time effects the total cost is because the staff are paid hourly so the longer the serving time the more we will have to pay our staff.
2. Time of day
The time of day effects the cost of the dodgems hire because if you are wanting us to operate past 10pm we will have to pay our staff extra for the unsociable hours. Also if the event is in to the early hours we might have to have over night accommodation for our staff.
3. Day Of The Week
The day of the week effects the cost as Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the most in demand days so we will need to charge our going rates, but if your event is through the week we might be able to do the event cheaper for you.
4. Event Location
This is a factor in hire cost as the further the location from our bases the more it will cost in fuel and the more we will have to pay our staff from transporting times. If the location is also to far for us to drive back home after setting up the ride the day before we world also need to and accommodation costs to the total amount.
5. Number Of People Attending The Event
The number of people at the event is a factor in hire cost because the more people we need to accommodate the more staff we will need. The more staff will help us provide a better service when at a event with a large number of guests.
6. Difficulty Getting To The Setup Location
This is a factor on pricing because if it is very difficult getting to setup location it could take us a lot long to setup and take down the dodgems. Also if it is a long distance to the setup location from where we can park our vehicles we might need more staff to help with moving of the equipment.

How long does the dodgems take to setup and take down? For the modern dodgems the setup time is 5 hours and take down time is 2 hours. For the Traditional dodgems setup time is 8 hours and take down time is 3 hours.
Do the dodgems have public liability insurance? Yes all the rides have £10 million public liability insurance.
Are all the dodgems annual tested? Yes all the dodgems have annual ADIPS tests and then we are given a Declaration of Operational Compliance (DOC) of an amusement device in accordance with Section D of HSG 175: Fairgrounds and amusement parks – Guidance on safe practice
Can the Dodgems be setup on grass? Yes all the dodgems for hire can be setup on grass. If the field is soft we also supply trackway hire so we can still get to the setup location.
Do you need power? No we do not need power because we have our own super silent generator to power the dodgems and this is in with the price we will quote you for your event.
Hire dodgems for wedding? Yes we hire all 3 types of dodgems for weddings, birthday parties and all other special occasions.
Can children ride the dodgems? Yes but they have to be accompanied by a adult at all times.
How do dodgems work? Dodgems work by pressing the pedal for power to move and turning the steering wheel to change direction, they are like driving a electric car, no gears just press and go.
